Released alongside a 2022 Syrah (née Shiraz) as an inaugural paired release, this delicious fruit-forward Estate Syrah Mourvèdre presents bright and varietal dark berry and plum fruits, pepper and spices nestled alongside a savoury fleshiness with gamey/smoky hints.

For this inaugural Estate Syrah (née Shiraz), released alongside a Syrah Mourvèdre, we celebrate one of Tahbilk's most treasured features ... our original 1860s Underground Cellars.
The wine itself is a wonderful, lively and inviting package of warm earth, bright berry, spice and plum fruits all embraced by fine tannins on a deliciously long finish.

True to varietal citrus, tropical and pear characters, minerally acidity and introducing background spicy oak notes ... love it!

Sourced from un-grafted, pre-phylloxera Shiraz plantings that are as original as the the Estate itself, these releases are vinous history in a bottle.
An iron fist in a velvet glove ... plum, blackberry and dark cherry fruits nestle amid dried herb, savoury and truffle notes with 18 months in French oak giving texture and spice.
Distinction and sublime elegance ...

Raisin aromas and nutty rancio characters on a palate that is all rich, sweet raisin fruit with an almost treacle-like consistency and complexity of flavours from decades in old oak casks.
