Full-time Cellar Door Supervisor

With the expansion of our team, we have a wonderful opportunity to employ a Full-Time Cellar Door Supervisor to assist our Cellar Door Manager and support our Cellar Door Team.

This position is aimed at someone who will jump in with both feet, who excels in customer service, has a solid foundation in wine and who has a thirst to learn more.  

The role is hands-on and includes conducting cellar door tastings and leading wine blending workshops, managing bookings, opening and closing cellar door, stock management, and assisting in administrative tasks.

At Tahbilk, you will get an in-depth insight behind the scenes, and gain comprehensive knowledge in the wine industry, with close links with the winemakers and the wider Tahbilk team.  

Our cellar door is open 364 days a year (closed on Christmas Day), weekdays from 9am to 5pm, weekends & public holidays 10am to 5pm.

We are looking for;

  • A bright, warm, and focused personality
  • Ability to quickly build a rapport with customers, share the stories of Tahbilk, and create an experience that resonates with our customers
  • Passion for and strong knowledge of wine and/or willingness to learn
  • A brand ambassador that will champion Tahbilk wines and the environmental work we do
  • Excellent communication skills and an ability to work as part of a team
  • WSET Level 1 desirable but not essential
  • Responsible Service of Alcohol qualification
  • Previous experience in leading hospitality or cellar door sales teams is desirable
  • Ability to work unsupervised and self-motivated
  • Availability to work Weekdays, one weekend day and public holidays

Intermediate use of Microsoft Office would be an advantage but not essential. The successful applicant will be trained in all our IT systems.  Own transport will be required to due to our location.

Casual Cook ~ Wetlands View Restaurant

Tahbilk Winery, 254 O'Neils Road, Tabilk, 3608, VIC

ABOUT THE POSITION

In this role, you will be supporting the Head Chef and the kitchen team by preparing exceptional dishes that have been matched to our award-winning wines. If you are interested in starting a career in Cuisine, but only starting out or don't have much experience, give us a call and we can discuss our options. Your keenness and drive will be considered. 

On occasions there will be some evening work, however, most nights are yours to enjoy with family and friends.

The responsibilities are:

  • Assist the kitchen team with all aspects of running an efficient back of house

  • Perform allocated duties for day as directed by Head Chef

The successful applicant will have the following skills and attributes:

  • Completed as a minimum food handles certificate
  • Experience desirable however will train the right candidate
  • High level of attention to detail and organisation skills
  • Team player and reliable
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Available for weekday/weekends/public holidays and occasional evening work.

Front of House Staff ~ Wetlands View Restaurant

The role is hands-on and customer-focused, with an emphasis on providing memorable experiences to our guests at Wetlands View Restaurant at Tahbilk.

Grounds and Garden Manager 

Tahbilk Winery, 254 O'Neils Road, Tabilk, 3608, VIC

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Grounds and Garden Manager is a full-time permanent role that includes managing a small dedicated team. The work is spread across the Tahbilk Estate as well as an additional site located in Nagambie.

Reporting to the Tourism Manager you will be required to perform all aspects of gardening and landscaping which includes, mowing, weeding, pruning and irrigation, as well manage and maintaining a variety of garden styles including the care and maintenance of the National Trust listed trees, a large established formal garden, a lawned citrus orchard, hedges as well as native gardens located at our onsite restaurant and within the Tahbilk Wetlands.

The position requires you to liaise with management across the sites to prepare the grounds and garden for upcoming events.  This includes a monthly Farmers' Market and weddings etc.

ABOUT YOU

  • Minimum Cert III in Horticulture
  • 5 years of experience in Ground and Garden Horticulture
  • Willing to undertake training if required
  • Have excellent communication and attention to detail skills
  • Be highly organized
  • Have excellent time management skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • High level of safe work practices 
  • Experience in the use of manual and powered garden machinery
  • Able to use chemicals substances in accordance with OHS and industry standards
  • Good level of fitness to undertake the duties 
  • Beginner to intermediate knowledge of Word and Excel
