Discover the rich history and natural beauty of Tahbilk Estate’s gardens on this guided tour led by Chief Groundsman Travis McCarty. The Purbrick family's influence on the gardens began in the 1930s when the Second-Generation Custodian, Eric Stevens Purbrick, moved from England to the homestead with his young family. Today, the gardens feature trees planted as far back as the 1860s, protected by the National Trust of Australia, Register of Significant Trees, along with native varietals and a few rare and precious species.
As you explore, Travis will share fascinating stories about how each generation of the Purbrick family has left its mark on the gardens and the ongoing efforts to preserve this unique landscape for future generations.
After the tour, relax and enjoy a delightful two-course lunch on the deck of the Tahbilk Estate Restaurant, paired with a glass of the current vintage Tahbilk Estate wine.
