A Toast to Tradition: Tahbilk's Marsanne Crowned Best Value 'Other Varietal' Wine in Australia

Tahbilk Marsanne Named Best Value 'Other Varietal' in Australia at Dan Murphy’s Best in Glass Awards 2025

We are thrilled to announce that our Tahbilk Marsanne has been honoured with the Best Value 'Other Varietal White Wine' award at the Dan Murphy’s Best in Glass Awards 2025. This recognition underscores our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and value to wine enthusiasts across Australia.

The Best in Glass Awards celebrate excellence across Australia's wine industry, with a panel of 12 esteemed wine experts evaluating entries based on quality, value, and drinkability. Our Marsanne stood out for its vibrant citrus notes, delicate floral aromas, and a crisp, mineral finish—hallmarks of the varietal that we've cultivated with passion and precision.

Our journey with Marsanne dates back to 1927, when we planted vines that are now among the oldest in the world. Over the years, we've nurtured these vines to produce wines that reflect both our heritage and the unique terroir of our estate. To ensure the continuity of this legacy, we've also cultivated new Marsanne vineyards, continuing the succession plan of Tahbilk Marsanne.

The current release, fermented in stainless steel to preserve its fresh and pristine character, is a testament to our dedication to the varietal. With its potential to age gracefully, developing complex honeysuckle and marmalade notes, it offers both immediate enjoyment and long-term value.

Michael Wilson, General Manager of TWC, expressed his pride in the achievement, stating, "This award is a testament to our team's dedication and the unique terroir of our estate. It's gratifying to see our Marsanne recognised for its quality and value."

Richard Badanjek, National Business Manager at Tahbilk Group, added, "We're thrilled to see our Marsanne receive such recognition. It's a reflection of our commitment to producing exceptional wines that are accessible to all."

Why Choose a Wine Under $20?

Opting for wines priced under $20 doesn't mean compromising on quality. In fact, many wines in this range, like our Marsanne, offer exceptional value, delivering the richness and complexity of wine tasting comparable to pricier counterparts. Affordable wines allow enthusiasts to explore diverse varietals and regions without breaking the bank, making wine appreciation more accessible to all.

Moreover, wines at this price point often come from producers who focus on consistency and approachability, ensuring a pleasant experience for both novice and seasoned wine drinkers. This affordability encourages experimentation, helping individuals discover new favorites and expand their palates.
