About this winei

Purchased by great-grandfather Reginald Purbrick in 1925, five generations of my family have now been actively involved at Tahbilk, the oldest family-owned winery and vineyard in Victoria.
Tahbilk’s ‘Family Series’ is a celebration of the importance of family given the influence five generations of the Purbrick family have had on the Estate.
Traditional red winemaking practices of open oak vat fermentation followed by time in large and smaller oak barrels have been employed to deliver these wines, crafted with one eye on current enjoyment and the other on the development of additional character and complexity with further time in the bottle.

The principle behind our ‘Family Series’ range of crafting wines with one eye on current enjoyment and the other on developing further character with time in the bottle sits very well with this inaugural 2024 'Family Series' Estate Riesling. Fermented under strict temperature control to maximise flavour and freshness, its lifted and vivacious citrus blossom, papaya and juicy lime notes are wrapped in a dazzling, palate-refreshing acidity that will support a rich, toasty complexity to develop with additional cellaring.
