Vintage 2022
The season started off slowly, summer was cool and the rainfall was low in the lead up.
A windy spring certainly disrupted the fruit set, leading to fewer berries per bunch with final yields well down, with some of our blocks by as much as 40%.
The harvest itself ticked along at a steady pace, whites progressed nicely, the reds ripening well and then everything ripened up at once with lots of juggling between whites, rose and red ferments.
With the low yields and challenges of this harvest there is much anticipation around the final release of our 2022 vintage Estate whites and reds.
And the final verdict on Vintage 2022? That will be yours ...
Enjoy Now to 2023/2025
With a distinct nod to the style of French Pinot Gris, late harvesting has ensured full ripening for this latest Estate 2022 vintage release delivering a fruit-driven intensity redolent of pear, apple and citrus zest characters, alongside a musky savouriness and seductive floral notes all wrapped in a crunchy, flinty acidity. Embrace its youthful exuberance with a salmon sashimi or bahn mi.
Don't Take Our Word For It ...
"Firmly Gris (not Grigio) spectrum. The tiniest onion skin bronzing hue to the wine indicating a touch of skin contact.
Varietal pear, apple flesh, musk and sweet florals with hints of stone fruit slices underpinned by mealy wheat germ savoury tones and fresh balsa wood. Texturally spot on, balancing zesty friskiness with varietal weight. Perfect summer drinking for those that want white with width."

"The spice runs strong from go to whoa on this well-priced charmer. Very varietal. Immediately shows it gris-ness in colour, with the slightest hint of a blush. Spiced pear, stewed apple and honeysuckle are rich throughout with noteworthy texture to burn. Soft and warm-hearted to close, it's ready to go right now."

"Lovely colour to this wine. It sets off the fruit to come, which is livekly fresh and good to tuck into. Uncomplicated is the word here but that's part of what makes it so drinkable. I particularly like the fact that this wine is a true Gris, and has both texture and flavour. 90 Points"
