About this winei

Crafted with a commitment to traditional wine making values, fermentation of this Tahbilk 'Family Series' Shiraz took place in original open vats over 155 years old, with maturation then in large and smaller French and American oak barrels prior to bottling.


The Purbrick family winemaking ethos is then to enhance the character and complexity that comes with Tahbilk's wines by setting aside quantities for later release with this release carefully cellared at Tahbilk prior to being offered under its distinctive label.

Showing intricate aromas and flavours of dark berries and plum fruits with savoury undertones supported by earthy tannins on a long and notable finish, this 2019 'Family Series' Shiraz has been crafted with one eye firmly on current enjoyment and the other on the development of additional character and complexity with further time in the bottle.
