Five Generations White - 2020

2020 'Five Generations' White

13.0% Alcohol | Enjoy Now to 2025/2027

Riesling 32% | Viognier 30% | Sauvignon Blanc 19% | Marsanne 12% | Verdelho 7%

The lifted fruit intensity symptomatic of Estate whites from the 2020 vintage is unambiguous with this blend.
From its citrus and floral Riesling fruits, honeysuckle and ginger Viognier notes, tropical fruit salad Sauvignon Blanc characters, bright Marsanne minerality and lively lemon zest from the Verdelho, this is a ‘leap from the glass’ release destined to impress.
Savour now with Vietnamese dumplings, Japanese prawn tempura or a cranberry, almond and chicken salad.

We have been advised by our carriers that with increases in the volume of home delivery orders, coupled with staffing restrictions introduced by the Victorian government, that delivery times will be extended.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

In 1925, Tahbilk was purchased from the Bear family by my great-grandfather Reginald Purbrick.
It was the family tradition of pride, hard work and a love of good wine that breathed new life into the Estate, commencing with my grandfather, Eric Stevens Purbrick, who spent some early time at Tahbilk in the mid 1920’s before taking on management and winemaking responsibilities in 1931.
My father John started his direct involvement in 1955; and then my own commenced in 1979 when, after graduating as an oenologist from Roseworthy College, I took on the role as head winemaker and Chief Executive Officer. The legacy continued, and continues, with fifth generation Hayley – my daughter – joining Tahbilk in 2009.
To celebrate this legacy the winemaking team were given the challenge of bringing together five distinctive Estate red and white varietals to echo the five generations of Purbrick family involvement.
I commend our winemaker's latest 'Five Generations' White to you.

PS By a curious twist of fate, the family involvement actually began in 1875 when James Escott Purbrick, third cousin to Reginald, was employed to excavate and construct the ‘New Cellar’.
