The back story of our ‘Old Vines’ Cabernet Shiraz blends starts in the late 1950s under my father Eric’s tutelage, with intermittent vintage releases of what were believed to be the first such solely ‘Estate grown’ styles in the country.
I then resurrected the blend for Tahbilk with four vintages in the 1970s and then, in what was shaping up to become a family tradition, my son Alister followed with two releases in the ‘80s.
We have now made an ongoing commitment to this quintessential Australian blend, drawing on fruit from our wealth of older vineyard plantings.
