Cabernet Sauvignon - New Label

2012 Cabernet Sauvignon

13.7% Alcohol ~ Screw Cap Closure ~ Drink Now to 2026/2030

“Excellent hue; manages to combine elegance with uncompromising blackcurrant/cassis, black olive and herb varietal expression; the elegance derives from skilful handling of tannins, and a celebrated vintage. 94 Points

“A wine that mops up the oak and shows better for its boundary and structure. The warm year has given the wine some stewed fruit characters, but tannin structure, brisk acidity and a tickle of eucalyptus lends the wine more personality. It has length and is full of flavour, but imbued with a sense of a classy composed wine.”
Mike Bennie – WBM (Wine Business Magazine)

“Tahbilk’s historic pedigree for Nagambie Cabernet finds great expression here. Intense black fruits, light herb and eucalypt hints, a mocha touch, medium body, and balanced dry tannins to support ageing. 92 Points
Ralph Kyte-Powell – Melbourne Age epicure

“Medium to deep garnet-purple, the 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon displays plenty of ripe cassis, menthol and cloves notes with a touch of cedar. Medium bodied with a good firm structure, it gives plenty of varietally expressive flesh and a finish of good length and purity.”
Lisa Perotti-Brown – eRobertParker.com

“A richer and sweetly ripe style with plummy fruit and touches of chocolate and mint, the palate mid-weight and nicely balanced around a firm backbone with smooth and gentle, fine-grained tannins to finish. Given Tahbilk’s record, it should easily last for a decade or more.”
Graeme Phillips - Hobart Mercury

“This wine is all about elegance and style. Slightly fleshy medium-weight fruit supported by fine tannins and a silky, fine-grained oak addition. Focused and effortlessly long. Excellent wine with some better things ahead if left in the cellar. 91/100”
Ray Jordan – The West Australian
