Dalfarras Nero d'Avola - 2018

This inaugural Dalfarras Nero d’Avola is Australia-meets-Italy writ large.
The varietal’s origins are solidly Italian, hailing from the southern Sicilian town of its naming – translating as ‘the black grape of Avola’.
Thanks to the warm to hot Australian conditions, it has been embraced by growers and winemakers here.
Then we have the excerpt of Rosa’s art selected for the label titled ‘Cockatoo in Kimberley’ – hard to get more Aussie than that!
The wine itself is soft, spicy and decidedly appealing with bright cherry and raspberry fruits, and a subtle savouriness that lifts its flavour profile.
I’m seeing crab arancini balls and a bright future for our new hero Nero!

We have been advised by our carriers that with increases in the volume of home delivery orders, coupled with staffing restrictions introduced by the Victorian government, that delivery times will be extended.
We appreciate your patience and understanding.

Dalfarras is about the enjoyment of wine, art and family, myself as the winemaker, my wife Rosa as a creative soul who brings her passion for the natural landscape into her works and a vibrancy to the Dalfarras labels (as well as providing her maiden name Dalfarra to its naming), and our daughter Hayley, bringing a new generational perspective, energy and passion for the environment.
Working together as ‘partners in crime’ we offer a range of carbon neutral, premium wines under distinctive artworks.

  • This is superb. First time sampling of this varietal, has been a lovely discovery. Gorgeous deep raspberry colour and as smooth as silk. So easy to drink and packs a pleasant light-headedness after. I find this to be a slightly sweeter version of Merlot, this is a fruity red. Goes superbly with Chicken & Mushroom Arancini Balls from IGA.By Donelle on the 01/09/2019 06:19:40
