In 1925, Tahbilk was purchased from the Bear family by my grandfather Reginald Purbrick.
It was the family tradition of pride, hard work and a love of good wine that breathed new life into the Estate, commencing with my father, Eric Stevens Purbrick, who spent some early time at Tahbilk in the mid 1920’s before taking on management and winemaking responsibilities in 1931.
My own direct involvement commenced in 1955 then my son Alister, after graduating as an oenologist from Roseworthy College, took on the role as head winemaker and Chief Executive Officer in 1979, a role he continues to this day. The legacy then continued with fifth generation Hayley – Alister’s daughter – joining Tahbilk in 2009.
To celebrate this legacy the winemaking team, headed by Alister, were given the challenge of bringing together five distinctive Estate red and white varietals to echo the five generations of Purbrick family involvement.
I commend our winemaker's latest 'Five Generations' White to you.
Cheers,

John Purbrick | 3rd Generation
PS By a curious twist of fate, the family involvement actually began in 1875 when James Escott Purbrick, third cousin to Reginald, was employed to excavate and construct the ‘New Cellar’.
